I've recently built four Patio Ponds using pressure treated lumber, hence the name, "PT Ponds." I wanted a simple, easy to build, strong structure that could be taken down and moved, should the need arise. I did not originate this design, but I did make changes that I thought were needed. They might be considered by some to be "over-built," but they suit me. These ponds are easy to build and cost about $200 each, depending upon the liner material you use. They are very straight forward and require no special tools.
Why did I build four of these? I have a rather large patio and these ponds now enclose what was once just a concrete slab. And there was room enough in the middle for a 10 ft. X 10 ft. canopy. I consider this to be a good use of available space. It has become a nice place to sit outside and relax.
Untill recently, I'd planned on turning this into a business. A LOT has happened lately, and I've decided to keep this as a hobby. Of course, that could change, but I seriously doubt it will any time soon.
In the meantime, I'll be adding several articles on pond building, plant care and maintanance, along with the PT pond tutorial. This is going to be a long-tern project, so please check back and see what's been added. Your comments are always welcome!

(so I say, but the newest annoucements are at the bottom)
I've added quite a few pictures to the site, some with rather long comments. I like being able to do that! Also, I have several new links on the links page, including a link to the place that inspired my basic pond design.
There is now a download page with a pdf file on building the PT Pond style patio pond. You can take a look at it on the new "File Download Page," and if you like, save it to your computer. This is the pond I've built 4 of so far, the one inspired by Sean Stevens. Feel free to use it, either as a rough guide, or follow it closely. Ponds are a personal thing, build one to suit YOU.
More Pics. . .
One of the most interesting waterlilies, for me, is Jongkolnee, an import from Thailand. Now that the plant has matured, the blooms are fantastic! Check out the pics!
It is the ease of making these changes and the ease of maintaining the site that leads me to replace this version. It might be a "lower tech" version, but it will make it faster and easier for me.
